Church School Inspection (SIAMS)
As a Church school, we are inspected through SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools), which focuses on how effectively we live out our Christian vision and support pupils and adults to flourish.
Our recent SIAMS inspection in March 2026 recognises St James’ as a nurturing and aspirational school, where our Christian values of compassion, courage and respect are deeply embedded. These values underpin decision-making at every level and are woven throughout our curriculum, pastoral care and daily interactions, enabling both pupils and adults to thrive. The report highlights how our vision acts as a “golden thread” across school life, driving an ambitious, inclusive curriculum and ensuring that all pupils, particularly those who are most vulnerable, are supported to succeed.
Collective worship is a cherished and meaningful part of each day, enriched by strong partnerships with our local church, and offering space for reflection, prayer and spiritual growth. Pupils are empowered to take on leadership roles, serve others and engage thoughtfully with issues of justice, responsibility and sustainability. They develop confidence, compassion and a strong sense of purpose, becoming active citizens who are inspired to make a positive difference.
We are delighted that the inspection affirms St James’ as a caring, inclusive and values-driven community where everyone is supported to truly experience life in all its fullness.
